Community Emergency Response Team
Your community's frontline defenders during crises, CERT volunteers are trained neighbours ready to act when disaster strikes. These dedicated individuals play a vital role throughout the entire disaster cycle:
Preparation: CERT members lead by example, preparing family emergency kits and "grab-and-go" bags while helping others do the same. They also seek ways to improve their training and undergo retraining as well ensuring that they are prepared.
Mitigation: They identify and reduce hazards around their homes and neighbourhoods before emergencies occur.
Response: When disaster strikes, CERT volunteers provide immediate assistance to neighbours, supporting professional responders when they're overwhelmed.
Recovery: They help communities rebuild and return to normalcy after emergencies.
Join CERT to learn life-saving skills and become an essential part of your community's emergency preparedness network. Together, we build more resilient communities that can withstand and recover from disasters.
